  • A forensic interviewer is a trained professional who talks with children in a safe and supportive way to help them share their experiences. They understand how to communicate with kids of all ages and ask questions in a way that feels comfortable and non-pressuring.

Their job is to listen without judgment and gather important information in a way that protects the child and respects their voice. They follow strict guidelines set by the Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan and receive ongoing training and peer reviews to ensure they provide the best possible care.

  • Our team is here to support families every step of the way—before, during, and after a child’s forensic interview. We know this can be an overwhelming time, so we make sure families have the information, resources, and connections they need to feel supported and informed.

    We help caregivers by providing:

    • Immediate crisis support – Helping families navigate the first steps after a report is made.

    • Ongoing case management – Keeping families updated and connected to helpful services.

    • Court assistance – Offering guidance and support if a case moves to court.

    • Follow-up support – Checking in to ensure families continue having what they need.

You don’t have to go through this alone—we’re here to help, answer your questions, and connect you with the right resources whenever you need them.

  • After the interview, the intervention team meets with the child’s caregiver to discuss next steps, available resources, and support options. If additional help is needed, we can connect families with counseling services, medical care, and legal assistance.

  • We create a warm, welcoming environment where children can play, ask questions, and feel comfortable before their interview. Our trained professionals use age-appropriate communication and trauma-informed care to ensure each child feels safe and supported.

  • That’s completely okay! Our forensic interviewers are trained to help children feel at ease and will never pressure them to talk. If a child isn’t ready, we respect their feelings and offer support in a way that works best for them.

  • We’re here to help! If you have any questions or need support, you can reach out to us here.
